Era Overview
The era begins in 1837 when Queen Victoria took to the throne and lasted until 1901. Despite the Queen's more traditional likings, the Victorian era was a time of great and rapid change. It was the time of the industrial revolution, the first women's rights movement, the emerging field of psychology and forensic science, and technological advancements. It was also during this era that such modern conveniences like the telephone and electricity came into usage. However, it was also a time of great social divides with many children being forced into hard labour and prostitution due to poverty. Regardless of the problems that the era held, though, we owe a lot of the 'Victorians' and this fanlisting is dedicated to any and all aspects of the era that you find interesting to study and reflect upon.
